Now I Can Die in Peace

A collection of articles written by Bill Simmons (a passionate Red Sox fan) for ESPN, following the team’s 2004 World Series victory, and ending their 84-year-long title drought. With Simmons’ colorful style of writing, ESPN asked us to develop a cover design that reacted to the title in a playful and illustrative manner. Being a huge baseball fan, this was a really fun project to work on.

Years later ESPN came back to us to develop Simmons’ next cover about his other great passion – NBA basketball. At this point Simmons celebrity status had grown (see size adjustment of author’s name). The request was to make the cover a sequel to Now I Can Die in Peace, so we simply flipped the hand of David around.
